SUMMARY:Gobi Dance Company (Mađarska) - Freestyle
DESCRIPTION:Djela Rite Góbi jednako su obilježena hrabrim eksperimentiran
 jem i pažljivo planiranim koreografijama. Istaknute značajke njezinog st
 ila su geometrija\, minimalizam i težnja ka redukciji. Njezina najnovija 
 produkcija otvara vrata u svijet razigranog muškarca.\nIgralište je anim
 irano fizičkom prisutnošću i interakcijom dva lika. Suigrači reagiraju
  jedni na druge dok su uključeni u intenzivnu akciju: trče\, skaču\, pl
 ivaju\, nalaze se ispod ili iznad vode. Ipak\, ovo natjecanje nije brzina 
 ili pobjeda. Harmonični ili neharmonični odgovori na misteriozne tjelesn
 e znakove drugog natjecatelja (suljudi): oni su odgovorni za osjećaj natj
 ecanja\, to je pravi cilj tjelesnog natjecanja. Ovaj put sudionici se bore
  sa svojim tijelima\, a ne s nekim drugim.\n“Možda ima nečeg simptomat
 ičnog u tome što je najkarakterističnije obilježje plešućih tijela p
 livačka kapa\, koja tvori jednoličnu-pravilnu sferu glava i svodi pojedi
 načno lice na minimum. Pravi pogodak! Podsjeća me na "umjetne figure" Os
 kara Schlemmera: kao da možemo vidjeti ironične odraze uzvišene kazali
 šne utopije stogodišnjeg Bauhausa ispred Freestyleovih plivača koji mij
 enjaju formu. Puristička estetika konstruktivističke scene i tadašnje m
 arionete suprotstavila se psihologizmu zapanjujuće građanske glume - u i
 me budućnosti. Teško mogu vjerovati da bi se takvo što promijenilo u gl
 avi Góbi Rite. Ali čak bi se i igra riječi u naslovu mogla rimovati s p
 rogresivnom tradicijom: najbrže se krećete ako slobodno birate strogost

 works are equally marked by brave experimentation and carefully planned ch
 oreographies. The salient features of her style are geometry\, minimalism\
 , and a drive towards reduction. Her most recent production opens a door o
 nto the world of playful man.\nThe playing field is animated by the physic
 al presence and interaction of two characters. The playfellows react to ea
 ch other while engaging in intense action: running\, jumping\, swimming\, 
 being under or above the water. Yet this competition is not about speed or
  winning. Harmonic or disharmonic responses to the mysterious body signs o
 f the other contestant (fellow human): these are responsible for the sense
  of competition\, these are the real goal of the body contest. This time\,
  the participants contend with their own bodies\, rather than with someone
  else.\n“There may be something symptomatic in that the most characteris
 tic feature of the dancing bodies is the swimming cap\, which forms a unif
 orm-regular sphere of the heads and reduces the individual face to a minim
 um. A real hit! It reminds me of Oskar Schlemmer’s “artificial figures
 ”: as if we could see the ironic reflections of the sublime theatrical u
 topia of the hundred-year-old Bauhaus in front of Freestyle’s form-chang
 ing swimmers. The purist aesthetics of the constructivist scene and the ma
 rionette at the time opposed the psychologicalism of mind-boggling bourgeo
 is acting - in the name of the future. I can hardly believe that such a th
 ing would have turned in Góbi Rita's mind. But even the pun in the title 
 could rhyme with the progressive tradition: you move fastest if you are fr
